Green Thumb-not so much

I have managed to kill all flowers that I bought in the spring...this one is now doing better, maybe thanks to Reagan-maybe she has a green thumb??

I know my mother in law who buys miracle grow by the case and has the biggest Whiskey barrels of petunias you have ever seen is cringing right now as she is reading this.  Sorry Phyllis!!  :)

Out for a Sunday Drive

We decided to take a drive through Red Wing and then to Wabasha (Where they filmed Grumpy Old Men) because we heard it was so beautiful.  It was a relaxing day of stopping for ice cream and shops along the way, enjoying the view and out to eat at Slippery's.

Summer, I miss you already...

We have made the most of the summer I will say, maybe too much so, as the other day Reagan woke up and the first words out of her mouth were, "Where are we going?"  That was a hint that maybe we needed to just stay home and do nothing---so we did!!  :)

This morning we had our first taste of back into routine as I had a class bright and early---8 am yuck!! It was only 2 hours but very difficult waking "The Beast" up in time to get to the sitter's and then make it to class on time. Next Monday, she starts full time, it will be interesting when she is screaming for her lost "PURPLE SHOES!!!!" and insists on wearing her Dora PJs and I need to be out the door by 7:15----uggg!! This too shall pass...

Reagan--- where are you???!!!

I left the driver's door open to the van as I was bringing groceries in and out and it occurred to me as I was putting the milk in the fridge that I didn't hear Reagan anymore....uhhh-ohhh!!  "Reagan---Where are you???!!!"  She had gone into the garage and was playing in the mini-van.  Notice that the keys were not in the ignition!!  :)

Potty Training Update

Overall, I have to say that potty training has gone very well!!  She is always asking to go and accidents occur very rarely.  We can't say that we have it mastered quite yet, but we are well on our way.  Yesterday, she went all by herself without asking for helping, me asking her if she had to go, or her telling me she had to go!!  She just came to me and stated that she went poopy and was screaming, "I made a snake!!"  Crazy that this our life right now---lots of potty talk!!  :)

Balloons and Teacher Emily too!!

I am trying to write down all of the funny or cute things that Reagan is saying and I thought what better place than the blog.  This is a post that I wrote on her teacher Emily's facebook wall.

Hi Emily-Thought I'd share something really cute with you that Reagan said before I forget. Each night we have our bedtime routine and say our prayers. She usually repeats me in saying "God bless___________" or "thank you for____________"as we pray for all members in our family. Now she is getting smarter in figuring out ways to delay the bedtime and so now is offering suggestions of who or what to pray for and last night wanted to pray for balloons and Emily too!!! And of course we did!! Awe!! So cute!! Just thought you would like to know as you start your week that you are thought of often and prayed for too-you are making a difference in the lives of your little ones!! :)

Adult Weekend 2010

I remember when Reagan was born my mother-in-law told me, "You know, I take my grandchildren for a week in the summertime." So I drove Reagan up to Bemidji to stay with Grandma and Grandpa Hammerback for a few days. On the way, there is always this big rock on the side of the road outside of Motley that has a new saying on it that someone has painted. The saying on the rock when I drove up was, Adult Weekend 2010--which was a perfect saying for us too-and I swear I did not paint it!!  Reagan had a blast fishing, swimming, pontooning, playing games, visiting, "Paul and Babes," going to church, playing with cousins and Uncle Jerrod and Auntie Joy.

Meanwhile, Justin and I, being that we were childless for a few days, decided to make the most of Adult Weekend 2010.  Friday, we had a neighborhood block party. It was great, and we were able to meet a few more neighbors. On Saturday we did our Annual Pontoon on Lake Minnetonka with friends. Sunday and Monday were pretty quiet without Ray Ray around...We missed her so much but had a great time with neighbors and friends. Here are some pics from Grandma and a few from the pontoon too.

Potty Training

Reagan's Big Girl Panties

Why, you ask, we tackle a sleep issue AND potty training...well, summer is winding down, we are 1st time parents that don't know any better, and we are nuts!!  This weekend potty training was our focus as we tried to stay home as much as possible, feed her a ton of water, take her potty often, and continue to ask if she has to go.  Well, I am realizing that maybe buying diapers for a little longer won't be so bad---she'll learn by the time she goes to college right??  Kidding--but I did learn that with this comes a whole lot of laundry, not to trust them when then want to wear panties during their nap, and that I need more than 5 pairs!!  We are trying incentives with stickers and lots of praise.  I loved it when we were talking about how everyone who is big wears "underwears" and I showed her Mommy's panties, and then she asked to see Daddy's panties too!!  :)

Ice Cream Truck

For the last 2 Sundays we have been outside when the Ice Cream Truck has gone by and enjoyed a few treats.  Reagan hears the music in the neighborhood and freaks out!!  The Ice Cream man is going to know us quite well by the end of the summer I am afraid!!

Daddy's toys

Here is Reagan playing in the sandbox with a backhoe of Justin's when he was little.
