No Nigh-Nigh and No Nap!!

Sleep and Reagan are not friends right now---we have been battling sleep issues such as not sleeping in her own crib for about 3 months.  We will put her down in her crib but then she will wake up and because I needed to sleep to teach the next day and instead of continuously trying to get her down for hours in the middle of the night, I would take her from her crib and spend the rest of the night in the spare bedroom with her.  I can't remember the last time that I work up in my own bed...Now she doesn't sleep at nap time either.  We have tried everything and today for nap, it took Dora, the DVD player, taking off her pants, fibbing that Grandma won't come unless she sleeps, promising to go the the park and even having Wylee sleep with her.  This did the trick and I was able to get a little down time to shower and clean the house, without a helper.  Grandma Kathy did stop over while she was sleeping so I could go and run errands and was there when Reagan woke up.  This is one of the challenges I will tackle this summer.

Another chef in the house!!

Reagan taking after her ol' dad in the kitchen.  Justin made his start with the Easy Bake Oven!!  :)  Reagan has already spent hours whiping up gourmet meals for us, Wylee and her dolls too!!

Grandma???

Reagan has been protesting naps and just sleep in general-- which makes for a two year old that is at meltdown frequently, and a mommy that is at her breaking point at times...whew!!  This too shall pass...

Well, in the midst of one of these...Reagan says in a pleading voice..."Grandma????"  Well, one Grandma isn't too far away in Woodbury and she sees quite a bit and the other lives in Bemidji.  This is just after a weekend with her, and I think she was missing her and wanting anyone but her tired, crabby mommy...some days I think, how am I going to do this with one 2 year old all summer by myself-bring on 25-- 4th graders any day...that's just when she grabs both my cheeks a gives me the sloppiest kiss ever!!  Being a mom (or dad)-is the hardest job in the world, but definitely the most rewarding!!

Here are some pics of Ray and her Grandma Phyllis who lives 4 hours away.  "Grandma???"

Another cute story is of when my dad came to visit last week and Reagan ran to give him a big hug and asked "Grandma too?" she was referring to her other grandma, Grandma Kathy.

Something Frilly

Well, I thought back to these pics of Reagan trying on my panties which she pulled from the drawer or laundry basket (don't laugh please) when getting this phone call from Justin at work one day during my prep.

(I get her ready and her takes her to school-when I left she had a mini- jean skirt and t-shirt on)

Justin:  Ummm, was she suppose to have a frilly thing on over her skirt today?

Me:  What do you mean?

Justin:  Well, I noticed that she had on something frilly over her skirt today...

Me:  What????!!!  I can only imagine...what was it???

Justin:  I da-know something frilly???

Me:  Something frilly??  If she went to school with my panties over her skirt I am going to kill you!!!  You know how she pulls things from drawers and puts them on, didn't you give her a once over?

Justin:  Yeah, but I thought it was a new style that you put her in like the stretch pants under the skirt???

Me:  Really, now I have to go all day thinking that she is at school right now with my underwear over her skirt and her teachers thinking we are nuts???!!!

Well, it wasn't my panties---thank you!!!  She had just put on another skirt over her jean skirt so she had 2 skirts on that day...whew!!

Out with the ol' neighbors

We met Mark and Katherine out for dinner. We have decided that since we don't get together as often as we would like having moved, that we will tentatively plan for the 1st Thursday of each month to meet for dinner.

Jason's New House

A garage sale treasure that matches the weekend perfect.

We met cousins Damon and Ashley at Jason's new house for a weekend.  Saturday was spent playing croquet, the boys went tubing, girls napped and read magazines in hammock.  Later, we grilled out and had a fire.  Sunday before we headed home we went to Snuffy's Landing Park (Reagan kept asking while we were there to go to the park because this one didn't have swings).  Then it was my turn to tube the river with Jason while Justin watched Reagan (oh and The Twins).

Happy Father's Day Daddy!!

Volleyball League

My dad was in town so we took him along to our Wednesday night routine of volleyball at Fletchers.  Now that it is summer, Reagan and I will go and watch the early games and I will sub when we can have Abby or Reade my former students watch Reagan.
